A team of women and men decided to beautify the church with locally produced artwork, and a project to beautify the sanctuary with needlepoint was born. Every pew in Holy Trinity’s sanctuary has a kneeler that is covered with a Biblical scene done in needlepoint. The project extended to the needlepoint kneelers at the altar rail, seat covers for the chancel chairs and special single kneelers for those seats. It took about 55,000 hours to complete the project.
Take a look at this amazing booklet outlining the history of the project, showing pictures of those who participated, and giving you a look at some of the kneelers and the Biblical stories they tell.
